Renovation Construction

Internal Plastering Services

  • Skimming – Applying a thin coat of plaster to walls and ceilings to create a smooth finish ready for painting or wallpaper.

  • Dry Lining – Fixing plasterboard to walls or ceilings, often quicker and cleaner than traditional plastering.

  • Dot and Dab – A method of fixing plasterboard directly onto walls using adhesive “dabs.”

  • Float and Set – Applying a base coat plaster (“floating”) followed by a skim coat (“setting”) for a perfectly flat surface.

  • Artex Covering & Ceiling Repairs – Flattening textured ceilings (like Artex) or repairing cracked/damaged ceilings.

  • Partition Walls & Stud Work – Building and plastering new internal walls to reconfigure spaces.

Ceiling Cornice

External Plastering & Rendering

  • Rendering – Applying plaster or cement-based materials to external walls for protection and appearance.

  • Monocouche & Coloured Render – Modern one-coat renders that come pre-coloured, reducing the need for painting.

  • Pebble Dashing / Roughcasting – A durable external finish using a mix of render and stone chippings.

  • External Wall Insulation Systems (EWI) – Adding insulation boards and finishing with render to improve energy efficiency.

  • Crack Repairs & Patch Plastering – Fixing small damaged areas without needing to redo entire walls/ceilings.

  • Water Damage Repairs – Treating and replastering areas affected by leaks or damp.

  • Heritage & Lime Plastering – Traditional methods for older buildings, especially in historic areas like Cambridge.
